Adani Cement plants -Transporters deadlock end in HP

Shimla, Feb 20 – Sixety-six days long logjam on Adani Cement plants between Management and Truck operators ended on Monday as both the parties negotiated new freight rates of Single and Multi-axle truck for cement transportation. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced that negotiation ended the stand-off which began on December 16, 2022. He said Truckkers agreed to offer their Multi-axle truck at the rate of Rs 9.30 tonne per kilometre and Single axle truck would be offered Rs 10.15 TPKMs.

He said the government would consider the issue of hike of freight charges increased due to hike of Diesel price. He said old freight structure would remain unchanged and annual hike of fare would continue on the old terms which was agreed. Earlier ACC cement plants Bharmana and Ambujaja cement plants Darlaghat was offering Rs 11.43 TPKM and Rs 10.73 TPKM. Importantly, Dalima Owned Ultra Tech Cement plant Baga increased the truck operators rate upto Rs 10.71 TPKM. Chief minister said he himself took two rounds of negotiations and Government supported the cause of Truck operators.

Chief minister said all others issues raised by the both side in the negotiations would be sorted out on Deputy Commissioner level by DC Solan and Bilaspur respectively. He said the government tried to settle the Industrial dispute with its ability but it could not allow the flight of industries on such dead lock. Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said Government was sensitive towards the vagaries of ancillary units affected due to blockade of cement plants. He hoped that after agreement both cement plants would resume their production again.
