Shimla, April 9, 2025: An action plan worth ₹64.90 crore has been approved under the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH) for the financial year 2025–26 in District Shimla. The plan was sanctioned during a meeting of the District Mission Committee held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that horticulture is the primary livelihood source for the people of Shimla. Hence, schemes run by the Horticulture Department must directly benefit farmers. He emphasized that the department should actively ensure the delivery of government schemes to enhance the income of horticulturists.

He also urged the department to focus more on research and training, highlighting that in today’s technological era, research-based practices can lead to better yields. He instructed the department to complete all pending projects within this financial year and ensure uniform implementation of schemes across all blocks. “No block should be left out or overly prioritized,” he said.

Senior officials from the Horticulture Department were also present during the meeting.
