80534 people cured for Covid in State

Shimla, May 2 – As many as 80534 people have been cured for Covid-19 in the State till now. In the last 24 hours, 1220, patients have been cured of the disease. A total of 102038 confirmed cases and 1512 deaths have been reported in the state till now.

A Spokesperson of the state government informed here today that the state government was taking several steps for prevention, containment and management of Covid-19. The most challenging situation was for the patients who had co-morbidities and higher risk of morbidity and mortality due to the virus. Many of these people were under home isolation these days and they could contact their mapped medical officer or Helpline No.104 (Toll free) for medical advice.

He said the persons in home isolation can also get on line consultations from their homes through e-sanjeevani OPD platform. This Online OPD facility is bridging the gap between people, physicians and health systems and enabling everyone, especially chronic symptomatic patients, to stay at home and communicate with physicians.

The spokesperson apprised that this user friendly app has helped many patients to reach out to their doctors and get online prescriptions in the safe environments of their homes. He emphasized that every patient must take at least two consultations during their home isolation period.

He said that 22 percent of the entire population have been covered so far under the vaccination drive. Approximately 76 percent of 45 years and above population has been vaccinated with first dose. Covid vaccination of the age group 18-44 will be started once Covid doses are received in the state.

Mission Director, NHM Dr. Nipun Jindal has urged all the remaining 45 years and above age people to get themselves vaccinated as early as possible. Those people who are due for 2nd dose vaccination which is essential to be taken after a gap of 4-8 weeks from the first dose should also get their vaccination when due. He informed that there is no shortage of vaccine for this age group. He appealed the people to abide by Covid appropriate behaviour even after completing 2 doses of COVID vaccination.
