800 Participants Attended 30th Children Science Congress On First day

Mandi, Dec 31 – 30th Children Science Congress started with its inauguration today on 31st December, 2022 by the Chief Guest Hon’ble Kaul Singh Thakur, Ex-Cabinet Minister, H.P. at IIT Mandi. A total of 800 participants including child scientists, teachers and judges across the state are participating in the 4 days event organized by HP Council for Science Technology & Environment (HIMCOSTE).
Chander Shekhar Hon’ble MLA was guest of honor. The inaugural ceremony was started by lighting of lamp. Dr. S.S. Randhawa, Principal Scientific Officer, HIMCOSTE welcomed the guests. Satpal Dhiman, Joint Member Secretary HIMCOSTE gave the overview of the Children Science Congress. He briefed that since 1986, HIMCOSTE has been involved in promotion and popularization of Science and Technology across the state.
Chander Shekhar addressed the students and briefed about the advantages and disadvantages of modern technology.
The Chief Guest, Kaul Singh Thakur shared his experiences regarding opening of IIT Mandi and gave his blessings to the students so that they can also be a part of IIT Mandi. Prof. Satinder, Registrar IIT Mandi and Narinder Thakur, President HPSMA also addressed the students.
The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Mrs. Deepshikha, Senior Scientific Officer, HIMCOSTE.
