Shimla, January 12: Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said the process to fill vacant posts in various temple trusts of Shimla district will begin soon. Chairing a special meeting with chairpersons of temple trusts, he said around 48 posts are currently vacant and the information will be forwarded to the state government, as approvals have already been granted.
The recruitment will be conducted by the respective temple trusts through designated committees, strictly as per government norms, eligibility conditions and prescribed qualifications. Vacancies include posts such as priests, multipurpose staff, accountants and clerks in five major temples.
The DC also directed early completion of temple trust websites. Websites for Jakhu, Sankat Mochan and Tara Devi trusts have already been developed, while remaining temples will also be brought online with facilities like information services, online bhandara booking and live aarti updates.
It was also decided that each temple will prepare a development plan on the lines of Jakhu Temple to create modern facilities and expansion areas. Additionally, a proposal was discussed to develop an alternate approach road for Tara Devi Temple to ease congestion, with separate entry and exit routes.
