Shimla, August 5:
Under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, it has been decided to implement the Bhog Scheme (Blessful Hygienic Offering to God) in five prominent temples of Shimla district—Tara Devi, Sankat Mochan, Jakhu, Haatkoti, and Bhimakali Sarahan.
Temple trusts will now be required to obtain licenses for preparing and distributing Bhog, ensuring compliance with Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) guidelines. Only medically certified individuals will be allowed to prepare food in temple kitchens.
In a significant move for transparency, CCTV surveillance of the three main temple premises will be directly monitored from the DC Office Shimla. The initiative aims to guarantee hygienic and high-quality offerings to devotees while maintaining strict food safety standards.
Officials from FSSAI, SDMs, and administrative officers participated in the key meeting.
