DC Reviews Monsoon Preparedness in Theog Subdivision

Shimla, July 3 – Deputy Commissioner Shimla Anupam Kashyap, along with SP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, reviewed the monsoon preparedness in Theog subdivision during a meeting with sub-divisional officials.

The DC directed that a Quick Response Team of police will remain stationed at Theog Police Station and a Home Guard QRT at the Parala Training Centre 24×7 during the monsoon. He instructed all patwaris and panchayat secretaries not to leave their stations.

He emphasized that officials must remain vigilant, maintain constant communication with local panchayat heads, and address any emerging problems without delay. All response agencies must act swiftly during any disaster.

The BDO was asked to share a list of volunteers with the SDM and SDPO for assistance in relief efforts. The Block Medical Officer was directed to appoint a nodal officer to coordinate with all ambulance drivers, ensuring availability of both government and private ambulances.

PWD, Jal Shakti, and Power Department officials were instructed to ensure uninterrupted essential services and quickly restore any disrupted services. All departments were told to keep their machinery ready at vulnerable spots for immediate deployment.

After the meeting, the DC and SP inspected disaster management equipment at the Home Guard Training Centre in Parala and found them in good condition. Additional equipment will be provided if required.

They also inspected the damaged Mahipul Bridge and the newly constructed temporary bridge. The DC congratulated the PWD for completing the alternative bridge within 15 days.
