Cloudburst Near Jagatkhana in Kullu Triggers Flash Flood, Vehicles Trapped Near Satluj

Shimla, May 24, 2025 — A cloudburst was reported near Jagatkhana Panchayat in Kullu district, close to Rampur town of Shimla district, around 6 PM on Saturday. The incident led to a sudden surge in water flow through a local stream, causing two vehicles parked along the Satluj j River to become trapped near the riverbank due to the swift current.

Additional District Magistrate (Protocol) Jyoti Rana confirmed that the cloudburst occurred in Kullu district. She also informed that three roads in the Rampur area were blocked due to heavy rainfall but have now been cleared and restored for traffic.
