7-Day “Youth Disaster Mitra” Training Launched at YSP University, Nauni

Solan, Sept 29, 2025 – The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Solan, inaugurated a seven-day “Youth Disaster Mitra” training program at Dr. Y.S. Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry (YSPUHF), Nauni, running from September 29 to October 5, 2025.

The inauguration was chaired by Honorable Additional Deputy Commissioner Solan, Shri Rahul Jain, IAS. The event saw the presence of the university registrar, NDRF representatives, Home Guard officials, and DDMA coordinators.

The program aims to prepare a trained youth team capable of assisting district administration during disasters. Over the seven days, participants will receive training in disaster risk reduction, first aid, rescue operations, and community awareness.

Rahul Jain emphasized the importance of community participation and urged participants to act as ambassadors of safety and awareness in their respective areas. This initiative reflects the Government of India’s vision of making the nation disaster-resilient through community-based preparedness and capacity building.
