Tributes Paid to Mahatma Gandhi on His Death Anniversary

Shimla, January 30, 2025: On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary, Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly, paid floral tributes at the statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Ridge and remembered his contributions to the nation.

Speaking at the event, he said, “Mahatma Gandhi was a symbol of truth and non-violence. His role in India’s independence was unparalleled, and his principles continue to inspire generations. By adopting his philosophy, many great personalities have transformed their lives and guided society towards a better future.”

He further stated that this day is a moment to honor all the freedom fighters and soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and security. He urged everyone to follow the path shown by these great leaders for the progress of the nation.

The event featured a bhajan and Ram Dhun recital by the artists of the Department of Information and Public Relations. A two-minute silence was observed in memory of Mahatma Gandhi and other martyrs.

Prominent dignitaries present at the event included Education Minister Rohit Thakur, Shimla Urban MLA Harish Janartha, former MP & Congress State President Pratibha Singh, Mayor Surendra Chauhan, Deputy Mayor Uma Kaushal, and several other officials.
