Himachal Government Blocks 2.65 Lakh Ration Cards Over Pending E-KYC

Shimla, 29 January 2025: The Himachal Pradesh government has taken strict action against ration card holders who failed to complete the mandatory E-KYC process. Despite repeated deadlines, lakhs of beneficiaries did not comply, leading to the temporary blocking of 2.65 lakh ration cards from 1 January 2025.

Following this action, nearly 49,925 ration cards have been unblocked as beneficiaries rush to complete their E-KYC. Officials expect 38,000 more cards to be restored in the next few days. The Food and Civil Supplies Department urges citizens to complete their verification to continue receiving subsidized rations.
