Gaurav Dhiman Condemns Closure of Him Care Scheme in Himachal
1 min readThe closure of the Him Care Scheme by the current government in Himachal Pradesh has been criticized as a grave injustice to the people of the state, according to Gaurav Dhiman, BJP IT Department District Coordinator. Dhiman highlighted the significant contributions of the Modi government towards healthcare, mentioning the issuance of Ayushman Bharat cards to over 125 million poor individuals across India.
During the tenure of former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, the Him Care Scheme was introduced to cover those left out of the Ayushman Bharat program, providing medical benefits up to ₹5 lakh. Dhiman noted that 292 hospitals, including 141 private ones, were offering services under the Him Care Scheme, and the state still has a pending liability of ₹370 crore.
Initiated on January 1, 2019, by the previous BJP government, the scheme greatly facilitated medical treatment for the residents. Dhiman demanded the current Congress government reverse its decision promptly, warning that the BJP would launch protests and demonstrations against the government if the scheme is not reinstated.
