In Sujanpur, Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh, a decades-old temple was demolished on Friday following a High Court order. The action, led by the Public Works Department (PWD) with administrative and police support, also involved the removal of a house balcony encroaching on government land.

The demolition faced stiff resistance from locals, who took to the streets in protest. They claimed the temple, built 60 years ago with community efforts, symbolized their faith. Villagers demanded that similar action be taken against all unauthorized structures in the area.

To manage the unrest, the tehsildar arrived at the scene, but the temple was ultimately removed amidst growing tensions. The incident highlights the conflict between legal enforcement and religious sentiments in the region.
