39 Brides in Bhoranj Receive Rs. 12.09 Lakhs under Chief Minister’s Shagun Scheme

Bhoranj, December 2, 2024 – A meeting of block-level committees regarding various schemes of the Women and Child Development Department was held in Bhoranj under the chairmanship of SDM Shashipal Sharma. During the meeting, SDM Sharma informed that in the financial year 2024-25, a total of Rs. 12.09 lakhs have been provided for the marriages of 39 underprivileged girls under the Chief Minister’s Shagun Scheme in Bhoranj block. Additionally, under the Chief Minister’s Kanyadan Scheme, Rs. 9.69 lakhs have been provided for the weddings of 19 girls.

In addition, Rs. 22.52 lakhs have been distributed under the Prime Minister’s Matru Vandana Yojana, and a total of Rs. 14.55 lakhs have been provided to 562 beneficiaries under the Beti Hai Anmol Scheme. Nutrition support is being provided to 2848 children and 748 mothers as part of the nutrition campaign, with special attention being given to 19 severe anemia cases.

Under the Chief Minister’s Sukha Shiksha Scheme, 290 applications have been received for the education of children of widows and single women. Moreover, 16 youths under the age of 18 and 22 youths in the 18-27 age group are benefiting from the Chief Minister’s Sukha Ashray Scheme in Bhoranj. Proposals have been sent to the Directorate for financial assistance for their higher education, coaching, marriages, vocational training, and housing. Two proposals have already been approved.

For the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme, Rs. 2.81 lakhs will be spent this fiscal year on activities to inspire, train, and empower girls, and to change the mindset of the community regarding girls. Discussions were also held on the creation of seven Anganwadi buildings under MGNREGA convergence and the Domestic Violence Protection Act of 2005. SDM Sharma directed officials to widely publicize all schemes to ensure their benefits reach the eligible individuals.
