Baddi (Solan), 25 January 2025: In a major drug alert, 38 medicines manufactured in Himachal Pradesh, including those for diabetes, migraines, high blood pressure, and infections, have failed quality standards. The samples, tested by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) and State Drug Controller in December, revealed discrepancies in quality. Companies responsible have been issued notices, and stocks are being recalled. The State Drug Controller, Manish Kapoor, confirmed that licenses for these medicines are in the process of being revoked.
Key manufacturers whose medicines failed include Biodil Pharmaceuticals, Cipla, Admed Pharma, and others. Specific drugs such as Zinc Sulfate, Pentaprazole, Amoxicillin, and Betahistine were found substandard. Authorities are taking strict action to ensure compliance and safety.
