300 players participated in Pro HPCL trials

Talented players from different states participated in Himachal’s biggest cricket league named Aspire Pro HPCL. More than 300 players took part in the trials that were organised at Durga Public School, Solan. The league is organized by Welfare Sports Association, in which Veenu Diwan, Ajay Thakur, Abhay Thakur and Sumit Sehgal are the founders.

724 players from 14 different states across India have participated in the competition. In this, the first prize is 7 rupees lakh and the second prize is 3 lakh rupees. This is the first time where a cricket tournament is being organized on such a large scale. White leather balls will be used in the league, in which players from the age group of 12 years to 55 years have registered themselves. ,
Renowned industrialists and business operators from different parts of the state like Kotkhai, Rohru, Baldeya, Sarkaghat, Mandi, Shimla, Rampur, Kinnaur, Karsog have made their teams.
The league’s auction is scheduled for April 3, in which the franchisee owners will pick players for their respective teams from a pool of 724 registered players.
The founders of the league, Ajay Thakur, Veenu Dewan, Sumit Sehgal and Abhay Thakur said that this league is being organized with the aim of keeping the youth of the country and the state away from drugs. They believed that such a league in the state not only creates enthusiasm but also builds professionalism among the players. He said that this is the second edition of the league while the first edition was held last year at Bharari ground in Shimla. This time the ground has been selected in Mohali where the players will experience playing leather ball cricket in a big ground having better turf in Endeavours Cricket hub at Mohali.
