3 Days Training Workshop on Geometrical Theorems Concludes at HFWTC, Shimla

The three days capacity training workshop on Visual Explanation of Geometrical Theorems which began on 27th October 2021 concluded at Health, Family & Welfare Training Centre, Parimahal, Shimla  on 29th October . The workshop was orgainzed by Himachal Pradesh Council for Science, Technology & Environment (HIMCOSTE) and Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST) jointly with support from NCSTC, DST, Government of India for 30 mathematics teachers from 11 districts of Himachal Pradesh. The master resource person for the workshop was Sh. Gurmeet Singh, National awardee teacher, who has patented an educational kit which practically demonstrated more than 14 geometrical theorems to cover more than 90% syllabus of class 6th to 10th.

The valedictory function was graced by Sh. Sudesh Kumar Mokhta, IAS Director Environment-cum-Member Secretary, HIMCOSTE. He viewed that capacity building workshop through innovative teaching aids make remarkable improvements in class room teaching. He praised the efforts of Sh. Gurmeet Singh master  trainer for his innovative ideas for simplifying the mathematics theorems easily. Dr. K.S. Bath, Joint Director, PSCST informed that idea of organizing the workshop was to bring innovativeness in teaching and trained the teacher of the region. The trained teachers expressed deep satisfaction and said that the training with the kit will help them in making class room teaching interesting. Other dignitaries who graced the valedictory function were Sh. Sat Pal Dhiman, Joint Member Secretary, HIMCOSTE, Dr. SS Randhawa, PSO, HIMCOSTE, Mrs. Deepshikha, SSO, HIMCOSTE and Dr. Mandakini Thakur, Project Scientist, PSCST. At the completion of workshop certificates were given to the teachers along with the kits assembled by themselves during three days workshop.
