₹20 Crore Boost for Science & Environment Council

Students Sent for Nature Camp from Shahpur

Shahpur, March 23, 2026:
Shahpur MLA and Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania announced that ₹20 crore has been allocated in the state budget for the Himachal Pradesh Council for Science, Technology and Environment, aiming to strengthen innovation and environmental awareness across the state. He shared this while flagging off students for a nature camp at Government Senior Secondary School, Rajol.

He stated that the funds will be utilized through Appropriate Technology Centres (ATCs) to conduct various scientific and environmental programmes. Expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister, he said the initiative will give a new push to science, innovation, and environmental education in Himachal Pradesh.

Under the aegis of ATC Shahpur, around 40 students from 14 schools of Kangra and Chamba districts were flagged off for the nature camp. During the camp, students will visit Palampur Science City, Gopalpur Zoo, and tea gardens to gain practical exposure to nature, environment, and scientific concepts.

Encouraging the students, Pathania urged them to share their learnings, ideas, and innovations after returning from the camp to inspire others. He also extended greetings on the occasion of World Meteorological Day.

Earlier, ATC Shahpur in-charge and Scientific Officer Dr. Sunanda Pathania welcomed the chief guest and briefed about the camp. The students were then flagged off for the educational tour.
