2-day online workshop on advocacy skills inaugurated

Shoolini University’s School of Law today initiated a 2-day virtual workshop on advocacy skills in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh University Institute of Legal Studies (HPUILS), Shimla.
The workshop was based on basic themes including skills required for becoming a successful lawyer, what makes a good advocate, everything you need to know about becoming a successful criminal or civil lawyer, professional ethics and etiquette for lawyers.
About 200 students of various law programmes participated in the workshop and learned the different skills required to become a successful legal professional.
The speakers and resource persons included Prof P K Khosla, Chancellor, Shoolini University, Prof. Atul Khosla Vice-Chancellor, Shoolini University, Justice S. S. Thakur Former Judge, HP High Court, Prof. Rattan Singh Director, UILS Panjab University, Chandigarh, Advocate Ashok Arora, Advocate Ajay Kochhar, Chairman, Bar Council, Himachal Pradesh.
The workshop explored further areas in the field of advocacy which included how to build successful law career, certain core legal skills which every law student should know, responsibility, scope and impact. In addition, the workshop discussed about the metamorphosis and history of the field.
Within India, the Indian legal profession is one of the most influential professions having an involvement in the governance of the country.
The resource persons summed up their views by giving a glimpse of the Indian legal profession, which is one of the largest in the world, with over 1.4 million enrolled advocates nationwide.
