2.8 magnitude earthquake jolts Mandi district

Shimla, Dec 31 – A mild intensity quake was recorded in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh early on Saturday.

The quake, measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale, struck at 5:51 am, according to the Meteorological Center Shimla.

The epicenter was near Nalu village of Sundernagar town at latitude of 31.46 North and Longitude of 76.98 East and 5 kilometers depth.

No loss of life or damage to property was reported.
