₹14.50 Crore Awarded to International & National Athletes in Himachal: Sports Minister Goma

Ayush, Youth Services & Sports, and Law Minister Yadvinder Goma said that the Himachal Pradesh Government is taking major steps to strengthen sports infrastructure and promote talented athletes across the state. He stated that ₹14.50 crore has been awarded so far to athletes excelling at international and national competitions.
Inaugurating the four-day State Level Under-14 Cultural & Yoga Competition at Boys Senior Secondary School, Nadaun, the Minister informed that the diet money for school athletes has now been increased to ₹250 per day — more than double the previous amount. Provisions have also been made for high-class rail travel and air travel for student athletes when required.
Highlighting key developments, he said the ₹120-crore indoor sports complex coming up in Nadaun will emerge as a major hub for sports in Himachal, offering world-class facilities. Similar complexes are being developed in other districts as well.
The Minister also announced ₹51,000 for the event’s organizing committee and congratulated the participants, noting that nearly 800 students from 12 districts are competing this year.
