10,000 Meritorious Students To Get Tablets in October

n October, ten thousand meritorious students in Himachal Pradesh will receive tablets. The Directorate of Higher Education has awarded the tender and placed a supply order with the selected company. These tablets will be given to the toppers of classes 10th and 12th in colleges. Chief Minister Sukhhu announced this initiative to provide tablets to the top-performing students in government schools and colleges in his previous budget speech.

In continuation of this initiative, the Directorate of Higher Education has completed the procurement process for the meritorious students of the academic year 2021-22 and issued a supply order to the selected company. Instead of laptops, which were provided to the students by previous governments, they will now be receiving tablets.

The decision to provide tablets instead of laptops to meritorious students was taken by the Congress government. Due to delays in procurement during the previous government’s tenure, students of the 2021-22 academic session had not yet received the tablets. However, with the supply order now issued, the tablets will be distributed to deserving students soon.
