Hamirpur, Nov 19 – Under the National Deworming Campaign about 1, 35,700 children in the age group of 1 to 19 years will be given Albendazole and Vitamin A tablets on November 21.
Chief Medical Officer Dr RK Agnihotri said Saturday special attention will be given to the children living in slums.
He said the dosage will be given to children in schools and visiting the homes of children who do not go to schools.
Similarly, those who will be deprived of Albendazole medicine for some reason on 21st of November will be given doses on November 25th.
The Chief Medical Officer said that the children are mainly prone to the worms for common problems like malnutrition, anemia, mental development etc. and as such these doses were being given to them.
In addition, vitamin A supplements are beneficial for the eyes in children, he added.
