NCB Special Drive Against Inter State Syndicates of
Narcotic Drugs
Narcotics Control Bureau, Chandigarh Zonal Unit has started a special drive to bust the drug syndicates operating in Punjab and other neighbouring states from 20 Aug – 30 Sep. 2021.
In this context, Narcotics Control Bureau, Sub Zonal Unit, Mandi (HP) on 05.09.2021, received a specific input regarding trafficking of huge consignment of Charas from Kullu (HP) to Agra (UP). On the basis of information NCB personnel of Mandi Sub Zone laid Naka at Kataula Chowk at Bajaura, District Kullu (HP) and intercepted a silver colour private vehicle bearing No. UP-80-DY-5898. Thorough search of the vehicle was carried out which resulted in seizure of 1.080 Kgs. Charas. Vehicle was seized and two persons Prashant Kumar @ Pankaj S/o Suresh Kumar resident of District Agra (UP) and another Vinod Kumar Mishra S/o Late Pramod Kumar resident of P.S. Chatta, District Agra (UP) were arrested in the case.
The arrested persons Prashant Kumar @ Pankaj and Vinod Kumar Mishra revealed that they have purchased the drugs from one notorious Kullu, HP based drug smuggler who is running a inter state drug syndicate between Himachal Pradesh and Agra (UP) since long.
Further investigation is underway.
