JUIT Waknaghat and PGIMER Chandigarh Unite in Groundbreaking MoU for Advancing Healthcare Technologies
1 min readJaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, Solan, and the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, joined hands through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed on 9th March 2024. The ceremony, held at JUIT campus, witnessed the presence of distinguished personalities including Prof Rajendra Kumar Sharma (Vice Chancellor, JUIT), Maj Gen Rakesh Bassi (Retd.) Registrar and Dean of Students, Prof Ashok Kumar Gupta, Dean (Academics & Research), Prof Shruti Jain, Associate Dean (Innovation), and the heads of the ECE and CSE/IT departments.
Prof H S Jattana, Administrator of Biomedical Instruments and Devices Hub at PGIMER, Chandigarh, played a pivotal role in facilitating this collaboration. The MoU, coordinated by the ECE department of JUIT, aims to enhance academic and research activities in the development of indigenous healthcare technologies. Prof Rajendra Kumar Sharma expressed gratitude to Prof Jattana for initiating this collaboration, emphasizing its potential to address healthcare challenges in India.
Both institutions encourage faculty members, particularly from the ECE department, to collaboratively propose projects for funding from various bodies such as ICMR, DST, and DBT. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof Sharma, setting the stage for impactful joint initiatives in healthcare technology development.
