Himachal appreciated in G-20 Co-branded event on Adolescent Health
1 min readShimla, June 20 – Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Sanjay Awasthi said here today that Himachal Pradesh participated in the G20 Co-branded event on Health and well-being of Adolescents and Youth, organized by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in collaboration with Partnership for Maternal, Newborn, Child Health (PMNCH) at New Delhi today.
He said that State was appreciated for mainstreaming adolescent health through strengthening the Nayi Disha Kendra (NDK). Sh. Awasthi said that the global gathering on the occasion aims to highlight the health and well-being needs of 1.8 billion adolescents and youth worldwide, and foster increased attention and investment by G20 nations in the health of adolescents and youth.
“Health and Wellness Programme envisaging developing school students as health and wellness messengers, advocates and role models within their schools and communities at large”, said Sh. Awasthi and the exhibits of Himachal Pradesh were well appreciated by the delegates from all over the country.
There were around 115 youth delegates across the country including Kashish, Shiv, Rashmi from Chamba and Rashmica Singh from Shimla represented the youth delegation of the State. There were 25 exhibits set on different themes on the occasion.
Dr. Anjali, the State Program Officer, State Team Leader of an NGO ‘Health Institute of Mother and Child (HIMC)-MAMTA’, Dr. Gaurav Sethi, who represented the State, were also appreciated for their efforts in maintaining adolescent health through strengthening NDK in the State.
The event was inaugurated by Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya.
