447 New Beneficiaries Receive Pension in Padhar Sub-Division

The Himachal Pradesh government’s continued focus on welfare is delivering tangible results, with 447 new beneficiaries in Padhar sub-division of Mandi district receiving a total of ₹5.49 lakh as their first pension installment under various social security schemes. These include old-age pension, widow and single women pension, and disability support.

According to Tehsil Welfare Officer Chandan Veer Singh, the new approvals for the financial year 2024–25 include 344 under old-age pension, 62 for widows and single women, and 41 under disability relief. With this addition, a total of 7,279 individuals in Padhar are now covered under the state’s social security net.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the government for this support. Krishna Gopal Sharma from Samkhater village said the pension has provided him much-needed economic relief for medicine and daily needs. Similarly, Bhoomi Singh of Gaddi Bagla and Dharam Singh Thakur of Gawali appreciated the timely disbursement of the first installment and thanked Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment for this initiative that empowers senior citizens to live with dignity.
