Youth Tourism Club of St. Thomas School organized Heritage Walk

Shimla, May 31 – The Heritage Walk was organized by the Yuva Tourism Club of St. Thomas’ School, Shimla. More than 40 club members participated in this heritage walk under the chairmanship of youth tourism club coordinator teachers Surender Sharma and Tarun Sharma. The objective of this walk was to acquaint the club members with the heritage buildings and routes of Shimla. The members of Yuva Tourism Club started the Heritage Walk from Scandal Point and concluded at Advance Study Shimla.

 

The members of the club were given detailed information about the scandal point of Shimla by the teachers of the Yuva Tourism Club. The members of the club were given a tour of Bantony Castle, Kalibari Temple, Railway Bhawan, Gorton Castle, Council Chamber (Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly), Kennedy House, Retreat, Cecil Hotel, Ambedkar Chowk (Chaura Maidan)), Indian Institute of Advance Studies.

During the Heritage Walk, the club members tried to convey the message of environmental protection and ill-effects of plastic by lifting plastic bottles and also took an oath to conserve natural resources. It was also decided to organize tourism related activities in future also. During this, refreshments were also given to the club members.

Student head Anshika, Treasurer Harsh ,Club’s executive members Shiva, Arukshita, Sneha, Ratul, Nirmaya, Parineeta and other members participated in this heritage walk.
