2 min read
Young writers with a passion for storytelling are invited to step into the spotlight as Keekli Charitable Trust announces its Pan-India Short Story Writing Competition 2026. Open to students under the age of 20 from schools and colleges across the country, the competition offers a platform to explore imagination, honour India’s diverse cultural narratives, and share original stories with a national audience.
The submission window will remain open from January 15 to February 28, 2026. Participants may submit stories of 1,000 to 2,500 words in English or Hindi, with complete creative freedom in terms of theme. Writers may also draw inspiration from their state or city’s folklore, history, monuments, or cultural traditions. Entries are welcome in genres such as fiction, non-fiction, travelogue, and memoir.
Outstanding entries will receive the opportunity to be featured in a national anthology, with 31 to 51 selected stories chosen for publication. Shortlisted writers will also benefit from creative workshops and webinars led by distinguished jury members, along with personalised one-on-one mentoring to refine their work.
Submissions must include the participant’s class, school or college name, city, and contact number. Entries should be typed and submitted only in WORD file format; handwritten submissions, images, or PDF files will not be accepted. The use of AI-generated content or plagiarism will result in disqualification, and any inspiration drawn from existing sources must be clearly acknowledged.
Stories should be emailed to secy.keeklitrust@gmail.com within the submission period. With imagination as the only limit, young storytellers are encouraged to let their words resonate far beyond the page.
