World Ozone Day Celebrated with Quiz and Painting Competitions at Geeta Adarsh School, Solan

Solan, September 16, 2025 – On the occasion of World Ozone Day, HIMCOSTE Shimla’s EIACP Division organized a special programme at Geeta Adarsh School, Solan, in which 120 students from various government and private schools of Solan city participated.
The event featured a painting competition for students of Classes 6 to 8 and a quiz competition held in two categories: Classes 9–10 and Classes 11–12. The final rounds of the quiz were conducted on the Himachal Utsav stage, while the prize distribution ceremony was organized in the school premises.
In the Senior Quiz category, Palak and Aarushi (B.L.C.P.S. The Mall, Solan) bagged the first prize, followed by Aarush and Aarav (MR DAV, Solan) in second place, and Kanika and Pranjal (Gurukul International, Solan) in third.
In the Senior Secondary Quiz category, Yadiri and Mehak (B.L.C.P.S. The Mall, Solan) stood first, Kshitij Mehta and Bhavya Gautam (PNNM Geeta Adarsh, Solan) second, and Tupti Jugranthi and Miftika (Convent Girls S.S.S., Solan) third.
In the Painting Competition, Aarav Sawant (DPS Solan) won the first prize, Smriti Singta (Gurukul International, Solan) secured second, and Aahana Yesma (St. Luke’s S.S.S., Solan) came third.
Dr. Priyanka, Scientific Officer from HIMCOSTE Shimla, was the Chief Guest, while School Principal Dr. Sneh was specially present on the occasion. In their addresses, they highlighted the causes of ozone depletion and the threats posed by climate change.
HIMCOSTE’s Ajay, Solan Deputy Director of Education Amrish Sharma (organizer), along with Quiz Masters Harinder, Vipin, Mehar, Rakesh, Tajendra, and Sam, played key roles in making the event a success.
