Solan, September 28
The World Heart Day was marked with a series of engaging activities aimed at raising awareness about heart health at Shoolini University.
A major highlight of the event was a Mega Health Camp organised in collaboration with Maharishi Markandeshwar University (MMU) Solan, specifically catering to faculty and students. While the primary focus was on heart health, other essential health check-ups were also available, benefiting nearly 150 participants.
Various student groups took the lead in raising awareness through innovative and interactive activities. A quiz competition tested students’ knowledge, while a Mythbusters session debunked common misconceptions about heart health. The sale of heart-shaped bracelets and brownies added a creative and fun element, proving popular among attendees.
In addition, songs about “Dil” and heart-related quotes echoed throughout the day, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.
Furthermore, a sustainable candle-making workshop led by Assistant Professor Kritika Rana taught students how to create heart-shaped candles, blending creativity with sustainability.
Mrs. Poonam Nanda, Director of Sustainability and Community Engagement, said, “Our aim was to raise awareness through activities that were both informative and enjoyable, encouraging maximum student engagement.”
