Solan, April 7:
The Department of Bioengineering and Food Technology at Shoolini University celebrated World Health Day with great enthusiasm. As part of the celebration, two engaging activities were organised – Healthy Food Stalls and a Poster Making Competition – to promote awareness about healthy living, nutrition, and wellness.
Students from across the department participated actively, showcasing their creativity and awareness of global health issues. The highlight of the event was the setup of healthy food stalls by student groups. These stalls featured a wide variety of nutritious, innovative, and tasty dishes, all prepared with special attention to hygiene and sustainability.
The food stalls were judged on four key criteria: nutritional value, innovation and creativity, presentation and hygiene, and taste and appeal. The food stall named One Group won the first prize for their unique zero-waste themed setup, while Zexty Bite secured the second position.
In the Poster Making Competition, students expressed their ideas on the theme “Healthy Living for a Better Future” through handmade posters. They used different art mediums to convey strong messages related to health and wellness. The posters were evaluated based on their relevance to the theme, creativity and originality, clarity and message impact, and neatness and aesthetic appeal. The winners of the competition were Varun, Ayush, and Shreya.
The event also included nutrition counseling stalls, where students and faculty members shared valuable tips on maintaining a healthy and balanced diet. To add an interactive element, a body fat analyser machine was used to assess the physical health of faculty members, who then received personalised wellness advice.
