Unity Run at UHF Nauni

Solan,Oct 31: A Unity Run was organised today at the Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel which is celebrated throughout India as National Unity Day.

The NSS volunteers of the university participated in the unity run which was flagged off by University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Rajeshwar Singh Chandel. The run commenced from the university’s administrative block and progressed to the Nauni market and ended at the College of Forestry after passing through the campus. Prof. Chandel also administered the ‘Unity oath’ to the students. In a separate event, the Vice Chancellor also administered the oath to the employees of the university.

Addressing the gathering of students and staff, Prof. Chandel said that the nation is forever indebted to Sardar Patel for his efforts in uniting India. He urged everyone, especially the students to study and learn about the contributions of Sardar Patel, who undertook the challenging task of uniting the princely states into India. He urged everyone to contribute towards nation-building and put the larger interest before personal interest. Student Welfare Officer Dr. AK Joshi and all the NSS officers were present on the occasion.
