Social-Economic Development Goals Possible Through Sustainable Development – President SBI Foundation

Shimla, May 29 – Only goals of social-economic development can be possible through sustainable development. Objectives of such goals are rending out and eradicate poverty, unemployment and then inclusion the people in the main stream of human development. Meaning of development is meant for fulfilling the required basic needs of human development without damaging and vitiates the needs of the coming generations and resources.
Nixon Joseph, the president of SBI Foundation, who is also visiting professor in APG Shimla University, said the same quotes here on Friday during a webinar organized on behalf of APG Shimla University and Venkateshwara Open University, Arunachal Pradesh under the prestigious presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ramesh Chauhan from APG Shimla varsity and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. R.K. Choudhary from Venkateshwara open University.
APG varsity’s Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ramesh Chauhan welcomed and thanked the renowned personality and world famous banker Nixon Joseph for his struggle in life and helping the youths and people to face the challenges in life and make society better. Vice-Chancellor Prof. R.K. Choudhary introduced Nixon Joseph to the students and teachers and said Nixon Joseph is not only a banker but he is a human leader who keeps the human development at the first step not the leverage from business. Addressing the students and teachers of both universities, Nixon Joseph said even if we all are facing the daunting of Covid pandemic but for a successful professional, such challenges bring new opportunities to expand development as before determination and strong commitment no development stops.
Nixon Joseph added more that people from corporate world should engage themselves in sustainable development instead of earning profit and focuses on the goals of human development, and engages the youths in job-creation not make the youths job-seekers. If the public life of the people is not better, then corporate world will also not attain any benefit, said Nixon Joseph. Nixon Joseph said those human resources, professional, vocational education, and communication, need based natural resources should apply in sustainable human development then human civilization, culture, economic growth of urban and rural development including protection of environment can be stronger.
Nixon strongly said that corporate world should perform their responsibility of developing social-economic growth first in lieu of getting benefits first so that the world population facing the problems and challenges of poverty, unemployment, starvation, unsocial protection, dearth of education, dearth of cleanliness, health, inequality and backwardness can be made better at ground level by affording them the conveniences of social-economic by human skills for human development. Every year, SBI Foundation Youth for India calls for applications from aspiring and meritorious gradates and post-graduates from various background of professional education, who wants to contribute to the betterment of rural communities through SBI Foundation fellowship.
The meritorious youths are elected under this fellowship, and also youths get a platform to serving and helping the rural communities, said Nixon Joseph interacting with APG Shimla University and Venkateshwara Open University students. Nixon Joseph said that disabled persons can get this opportunity from this platform to increase their confidence inside them to live better and help rural areas through their talent. Joseph told that any education institution, organization, NGO can as partner under this fellowship platform. Even today, the development of rural areas are ignored by the governments, institutions and organization mostly in developing country and India, while real India dwells in its rural pockets, said Joseph. He said that fact remains that the majority of human communities in India are still without the most basic of amenities such as water supply, power supply, roads, education, and health facility.
“SBI Youth for India Fellows come from such diverse backgrounds, but somehow when they all meet each other; a common thread binds them all. I believe that is the power of this platform of SBI Foundation fellowship. It creates a space for like-minded people who believe if you truly have faith, change will happen but your soar should not have a boundary”, said Nixon Joseph while motivated the students to attain SBI Foundation fellowship.
