Session on folk dances of Maharashtra and its Politics of Performance organised at Shoolini University

Shoolini University’s Belletristic Shoolini Literature Society recently hosted a session on the topic of “Folk Dances of Maharashtra and its Politics of Performance.” The event aimed to shed light on the cultural heritage of Maharashtra and the social dynamics intertwined with its traditional dances.

The key speaker for the session was Ms. Sejal Madhavi Yadav, shared her views in-depth on the historical, cultural, and political aspects of various folk dances of Maharashtra. Ms. Yadav’s presentation provided valuable insights into the significance of these art forms and their relationship with the socio-political landscape of the region.

Prof. Dhar from Shoolini University shared his profound observations and remarks on the subject matter, enriching the conversation further.  Dr. Purnima Bali, Head School of Chitrakoot and Liberal Arts in her closing remarks expressed the importance of maintaining a delicate balance between preserving the authenticity of pure folk dance forms and their adaptation in the realm of film studies.
