JUIT SIAM Chapter Secures Global No.1 Rank Among 200+ Chapters

In a landmark global achievement, the SIAM Student Chapter of Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) has secured first position worldwide in the international membership recruitment competition organized by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM), surpassing over 200 participating chapters.
The competition, held at the end of 2025, evaluated chapters based on their ability to enroll maximum new members during a defined campaign period. JUIT’s chapter stood out through strategic outreach, strong teamwork, and sustained academic engagement.
This success reflects the chapter’s vibrant academic ecosystem. Over the past year, it has actively organized technical workshops on applied mathematics and computational tools, expert lectures by researchers and industry professionals, coding and problem-solving sessions, awareness programmes on research opportunities, and collaborative interdisciplinary events. These initiatives have significantly enhanced student participation, research orientation, and practical skill development.
The achievement was guided by Prof. (Dr.) Vivek Sehgal, whose mentorship played a crucial role in strengthening the chapter’s vision and growth. It also builds upon the strong foundation laid by former presidents—Anant Sharma, Shambhavi Singh, Ayush Vaish, and Achyut Tiwari—whose leadership helped institutionalize a culture of excellence and innovation.
In recognition of this accomplishment, the chapter has been awarded official SIAM merchandise, a redeemable coupon for SIAM publications, and an invitation to publish a feature article in SIAM News.
