JUIT Sets New Benchmark in Technical Higher Education with NAAC A+ and Global Rankings

Waknaghat, Solan | April 5, 2025:
Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) held a press meet at its scenic campus in Waknaghat, Solan, highlighting its outstanding strides in technical higher education, research, innovation, and global recognition.

Prof. Tiratha Raj Singh, Media In-charge, opened the meet, stressing JUIT’s commitment to quality education. Brig. R.K. Sharma (Retd.), Registrar and Dean of Students, spoke about JUIT’s genesis, advanced infrastructure, hostels, and vibrant co-curricular environment.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajendra Kumar Sharma laid out JUIT’s future vision, focusing on research, innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship. He cited the establishment of the Directorate of Research and Innovations and the Ramanujan Supercomputing Facility as prime examples of this vision. JUIT students are now landing internships at IITs and securing positions at top global firms like Amazon and Google.

Key Achievements Highlighted:

  • NAAC A+ Accreditation: JUIT earned an A+ grade with a CGPA of 3.40 in April 2024, valid for five years, recognizing its academic and research excellence.
  • Global Rankings: JUIT ranks in the 801–1000 band in Times Higher Education World Rankings 2025, 179th in QS World Rankings Southern Asia, and 251–300 in Interdisciplinary Science Rankings.
  • Innovation & IIC Recognition: Secured a 3.5-star rating from the Institution’s Innovation Council (Ministry of Education).
  • Patents & MoUs: JUIT has 55 granted patents and multiple active MoUs with global universities and industries, enhancing research and employability.
  • NBA Accreditation: The BTech Biotechnology program has been reaccredited by NBA for 2024–2027.

Regional Impact & Vision Ahead:

Prof. Sharma emphasized aligning with NEP norms, expanding academic disciplines, and increasing student strength to over 3000. JUIT aims to curb migration of Himachali youth seeking education outside and position the state as a preferred educational hub.

The press meet concluded with a tour of cutting-edge laboratories and departments, reaffirming JUIT’s excellence in higher education and societal contribution.
