JUIT Hosts STEM Education Talk & Principal’s Meet in Kurukshetra to Foster School-University Collaboration

Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Waknaghat, organized a transformative STEM Education Talk and Principal’s Meet on 27th April 2025 at Kurukshetra, Haryana. This impactful event brought together leading school principals, educators, and education service providers to engage in insightful dialogue about the future of STEM education in India.
The program began with a warm welcome note by Prof. Tiratha Raj Singh and followed by an inaugural address by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of JUIT Prof. R.K. Sharma, who emphasized the importance of inter-institutional collaborations and nurturing innovation through strong academic-industry linkages. He outlined the university’s ongoing efforts to build bridges between school-level education and higher academic research. This was followed by a motivational message from Shri Pavan Acharya ji, who spoke about the essential role of visionary educators in shaping the scientific temper and ethical foundations of future generations. Prof. Singh gave multiple examples to correlate STEM with real life situations and provided technological proofs for the same.
The whole program was conducted by Prof. Tiratha Raj Singh, who ensured a smooth flow of sessions and actively engaged the audience through flawless poetries. Prof. Singh also delivered the keynote address on “STEM Education: Motivating Young Innovators”, where he highlighted the urgency of making science, technology, engineering, and mathematics more accessible and engaging at the school level. He inspired the attendees to act as catalysts in guiding students toward innovative thinking and real-world problem solving.
The meet saw enthusiastic participation from over 40 schools and institutions from across Kurukshetra, Kaithal, Panipat, Jind, Karnal, and surrounding regions. Notable institutions included DPS, Kurukshetra, Arya Public School, Chandlana, D.A.V. Public School, Pundri, Manav Vikas World School, MDN Global School, Kaithal, Satluj Sen. Sec. School, Shahabad, Markanda, Springdale Public School, Cambridge World School, KVM Global School, Pai, Kaithal and many more. The event also welcomed representatives from Genesis Classes Pvt Ltd, PRATHAM Test Prep, and several public and international schools, making it a diverse and inclusive gathering of stakeholders in STEM education.
The driving force behind this event was the motivation from Shri Pavan Acharya Ji, who connected two entities, JUIT and all the good schools of the region. The seamless execution of the event was made possible under the careful coordination of Dr. Ankush Tanta, Admission Officer, JUIT and Mr. Praveen Kumar, Admission Coordinator, JUIT whose dedication ensured that each session was engaging, insightful, and purposeful.
In the concluding remarks Prof. Sharma said that this event strengthened collaboration opportunities between JUIT and regional schools. Greater awareness of STEM opportunities and career pathways for students was also provided. Renewed commitment among school leaders to promote experiential learning and plans for future workshops, STEM competitions, and joint mentorship programs were also discussed. The STEM Education Talk and Principal’s Meet successfully fostered a spirit of collaboration and innovation. It was a powerful step toward aligning secondary education with the future needs of industry and research. JUIT looks forward to further engagement with schools and academic leaders to build a stronger foundation for India’s scientific and technological progress.
