FDP on MATLAB for Image Analysis and Pattern Recognition

Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Solan, Himachal Pradesh, recently held a Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “MATLAB for Image Analysis and Pattern Recognition: From Fundamentals to Advanced Applications.” This five-day online event, conducted from September 2nd to 6th, 2024, was organized in collaboration with the Electronics & ICT Academy at the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC).
The FDP aimed to enhance the skills of academicians and lab staff from polytechnic and engineering institutes in advanced image analysis and pattern recognition techniques using MATLAB. The program was inaugurated by Prof. Balwinder Singh, Joint Director & Head of E&ICT at C-DAC Mohali, Prof. Shruti Jain, Associate Dean of Innovation at JUIT, and Prof. Rajiv Kumar, Head of the Electronics and Communication Department at JUIT.
The program featured lectures from distinguished experts including Prof. Tapan Kumar Gandhi (IIT Delhi), Dr. Taranjit Kaur (IIT Jodhpur), Dr. Satyasai Jagannath Nanda (MNIT Jaipur), Dr. Meenakshi Sood (NITTTR Chandigarh), Dr. Anjali Gautam (IIIT Allahabad), Dr. Akshay Pandey (IIIT Jabalpur), Prof. R.S. Anand (IIT Roorkee), Dr. Chandresh Kumar Maurya (IIT Indore), Dr. Jitendra Virmani (CSIR-CSIO), Dr. Anita Singh (IRDE, DRDO), along with faculty members from JUIT: Prof. Shruti Jain, Dr. Nishant Jain, and Dr. Vikas Baghel.
Over 200 participants attended the FDP, coordinated by Dr. Vikas Baghel and Dr. Nishant Jain from JUIT’s ECE Department, with lab support from Mr. Pramod Kumar and Mr. Dhirendra. The program was funded and supported by the Electronics & ICT Academy, C-DAC.
