HPUTWA Delegation Meets University Registrar, Raises Key Demands

Shimla, July 23: A delegation from the Himachal Pradesh University Teachers’ Welfare Association (HPUTWA), led by Vice President Dr. Yograj and Treasurer Dr. Ramlal, met the newly appointed University Registrar today. The delegation welcomed him with a bouquet, muffler, and traditional cap, extending best wishes for his tenure.
The association raised two key issues — the need for a transparent and regular housing allotment process for faculty and the reopening of the recently shut university restaurant. They highlighted that over 60% of the 350+ faculty members lack on-campus housing and are forced to rent expensive accommodations outside. The delegation urged for new construction or leasing of existing buildings to resolve the issue. They also recommended completing the housing allotment process twice a year, preferably by the end of July.
The Registrar assured the delegation of full cooperation and positive action on their concerns.
