HPNLU Shimla Inaugurates One-Week Workshop on Research Methodology with Hands-on Training in SPSS and AMOS

The Professional Training Cell (PTC) of Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU, commenced a One-Week Workshop on Research Methodology with Hands-on Experience in SPSS and AMOS (SEM) today, June 8, 2025. The workshop aims to provide comprehensive training in empirical research techniques, covering topics such as research design, data collection, statistical analysis using SPSS and AMOS, citation methodologies, and research ethics. The workshop will run through June 12, 2025, and features expert-led sessions for participants from diverse academic and research backgrounds.
The inaugural session began with an introduction to the workshop by Dr. Deepika Gautam, Chairperson, PTC, who elaborated on the objectives and scope of the training programme. The Welcome Address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, HPNLU, who highlighted the importance of empirical research competencies in the legal and interdisciplinary academic landscape.
The event was graced by Prof. (Dr.) D.D. Sharma, Former Vice-Chancellor, Sardar Patel University, Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, who served as the Keynote Speaker. In his address, he offered valuable insights into the evolution and contemporary relevance of research methodologies within the social sciences.
The Chief Guest, Sr. Prof. (Dr.) Usha Tandon, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Rajendra Prasad National Law University, Prayagraj, addressed the gathering and emphasized the growing imperative for robust and adaptable research frameworks in academia and public policy.
The session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Ruchi Raj Thakur, Convener, PTC, HPNLU, who acknowledged the presence and contributions of the esteemed dignitaries, faculty, and participants. General instructions were then shared with the attendees, formally inaugurating the workshop proceedings.
