HPNLU, Shimla Celebrates Cultural Spirit during 9th Foundation Week with Rangoli and Photography Competitions

Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla, under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, is celebrating its 9th Foundation Week from 22nd to 28th September 2025. As part of the commemorative events, the Cultural Wing of the Student Enrichment Cell successfully organized a Rangoli Making Competition and a Photography Competition on 23rd September. These vibrant events witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, reflecting the University’s commitment to fostering cultural engagement and creative expression.
Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena inaugurated the event and addressed the participants with words of encouragement, highlighting the importance of artistic platforms in enriching academic life. She lauded the efforts of the Cultural Wing and underscored the role of such initiatives in promoting inclusivity and diversity within the University community.
The Rangoli Making Competition, themed “Indian Culture and Heritage”, attracted 29 participants who created intricate and colorful designs symbolizing the richness and diversity of the Indian tradition. The panel of judges, comprising Dr. Bharat Barowalia and Dr. Nutan Kanwar, commended the participants for their creativity and cultural representation.
The Photography Competition, themed “Origin and Odyssey”, invited students to explore themes of beginnings and journeys through their lenses. A total of 9 students participated, presenting thoughtful and artistic interpretations of the theme. The competition was evaluated by Dr. Ruchi Raj Thakur and Dr. Nutan Kanwar, who praised the originality and vision exhibited by the students.
The event concluded with the announcement of winners, followed by the distribution of certificates and mementos by the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor. The ongoing Foundation Week serves as a tribute to HPNLU’s journey since its inception, reaffirming its vision to integrate academic excellence with cultural and creative development.
