Dharamshala, 21 May 2025: The Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) has released the revised Class 12 examination results, leading to a significant jump of 5.50% in the overall pass percentage, now standing at 88.64%, compared to 83.14% in the earlier result declared on 17 May 2025. This revision comes after objections raised by students, parents, private school associations, and teacher unions.

The error was due to the inclusion of marks from cancelled papers whose OMR sheets were mistakenly scanned and evaluated. Acknowledging the mistake, the board corrected the results, adding 4724 more students to the pass list — raising the total number of passed students from 71,591 to 76,315 out of 86,373 examinees.

The number of failed candidates has decreased from 8581 to 5868, and compartment cases have reduced from 5847 to 3838. As per HPBOSE Secretary Dr. Major Vishal Sharma, the final merit list will be issued after the re-evaluation process, for which students can apply until 5 June by paying ₹1000 per subject for revaluation and ₹800 per subject for rechecking.

Changes in Top 10 Merit List:
The revised results have also altered the overall Top-10 merit rankings. Science student Mehak, who earlier topped with 486 marks, now has 498 marks. Other shifts include Khushi moving from 2nd to 3rd place, while Jahnvi and Ankita have moved up to share the second position with 495 marks.

Students can access their revised results on the official HPBOSE website.
