FDP on new criminal laws concludes

The Faculty of Legal Sciences at Shoolini University conducted five-day long Faculty Development Programme (FDP) and workshop on “Sensitisation on New Criminal Laws”.
Participants had the privilege to gain insights from luminaries of legal system such as Dr. Ajay Ranga, Professor at UILS, Punjab University. His session offered a deep dive into the historical underpinnings of India’s criminal laws and their significance in the current era. Advocate Pinky Anand, a Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court and former Additional Solicitor General of India, enriched the audience with her expertise on the evolving paradigms of criminal legislation and its impact on legal practices.
Mr Somesh Goyal, Ex Director General of Police, gave a comprehensive overview of the new criminal laws, alongside elucidating the challenges and perspectives from a law enforcement viewpoint.
Dr. Upneet Lalli, Deputy Director and Head of the Institute of Correctional Administration, Chandigarh, shared her valuable perspectives on the practical implementation of the new laws. The FDP was brought to a memorable close by Professor Akshat Mehta from the School of Police Science and Security Studies at NFSU Gandhinagar, who underscored the critical importance of rule of law and governance in the context of recent changes in criminal legislation.
Dr. Nandan Sharma, Associate Dean Faculty of Legal Sciences, coordinated the FDP which concluded with a certificate ceremony, acknowledging the enthusiastic participation and contributions of both the attendees and the faculty.
