Education Minister Considers Online Classes in Himachal Pradesh Amid Parental Demand

Shimla, August 1: A demand for online classes by a section of parents is being raised in schools of Himachal Pradesh. In response to this demand, Education Minister Rohit Thakur stated that if schools remain closed for an extended period due to monsoon alerts, the government may consider online classes to ensure that children’s education is not affected. However, he mentioned that there is currently no need for it.
Education Minister Rohit Thakur further mentioned that during the pandemic, there was not a favorable response to online education. Therefore, efforts will be made to focus on areas where schools could not open. The government will work on repairing the roads and schools in those affected regions so that the education of children is not hampered.
In other news, Minister Rohit Thakur said that around 6000 posts will be filled in the Education Department, which was approved in the Cabinet meeting but got delayed due to the disaster situation. The recruitment process for NTT (Nursery Teacher Training) will be expedited once the situation in Himachal Pradesh stabilizes. The Cabinet will also discuss whether to include Anganwadi workers in NTT recruitment or not.
The Education Minister also mentioned the possibility of conducting Principal promotions soon. Regarding the JBT (Junior Basic Training) matter, Minister Rohit Thakur stated that the documents submitted by the candidates will be verified, and no decision has been made yet on their demands.
