Celebrations to mark Shoolini Innovation Day

The research focussed Shoolini University, which has attained top rankings from leading ranking agencies in the recent past, celebrated Innovation day to commemorate the glorious journey of 12 years of research and innovation.
Shoolini University has been placed among the top 200 universities in the world by Time Higher Education (THE) impact rating, QS worldwide rank in the 801-1000 band, NIRF ranking 89, and top 10 patent filers in India by Intellectual Property (IP) organisation.
On this occasion, Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, Chairman, AICTE, New Delhi, was the Chief Guest, Justice Rajeev Sharma, former Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court, was the Guest of Honour while Mr. Manish Anand, CEO, Divyasampark, Technology Innovation Hub at IIT, Roorkee, and Mr. Romy Malhotra, Pioneer in Dell and DXC technology were the distinguished guests.
In his introductory remarks, Prof. Atul Khosla, Vice Chancellor of Shoolini University, apprised the audience about the genesis of the programme and highlighted the achievements of Shoolini University in research and innovation.
Talks were given under “Ideas that Matter” by the students on themes aligned with sustainable development goals (SDGs). The chief guest, Prof. Anil D. Sahasrabudhe, acknowledged Shoolini University’s achievements in research and innovation and praised their aim to become one of the top 200 global universities by THE impact rating by 2022. He stated that the presentations under “Ideas that Matter” were high-quality research presentations and added that he could see potential Nobel laureates in the gathering.
Chancellor and Founder Prof. P.K. Khosla shared his vision of research and innovation and his journey to becoming a model of success to achieve taller heights within a short span of 12 years. He called his achievements a “divine drama for the cause of social development.”
Prof. Sahasrabudhe also inaugurated the Patent Wall, which depicted the journey of Shoolini University’s 1000+ patents. Prof. Kamal Dev, Director, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell Shoolini University, explained the journey of IPR at University.
The unique patent wall displays over 1000+ patents in the form of QR codes and innovative photographs in the areas of cancer, drug discovery, water, energy, food and crazy ideas. Prof. Kamal Dev also discussed the research being undertaken in the cancer field and at the food testing laboratory.
Justice Rajeev Sharma inaugurated the Raman Lab, which was built to conduct high quality research in the area of agriculture. The Raman Lab has been funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. He also inaugurated the scientific posters prepared on cutting edge research at Shoolini University. He said Shoolini University was growing by leaps and bounds and will play a key role in solving emerging issues in society.
Prof. Saurabh Kulshreshtha, Dean Research and Development at Shoolini University, shared the details about the scientific posters and other research activities of the university.
Mr. Romy Malhotra, a pioneer in Dell and DXC technology, talked about key features of innovation and motivated students to do high quality research and innovation. The programme was attended by students, faculty members, deans and directors, and senior management of the university.
Another event on the Innovation Day was the setting up of the iHUB Shoolini, supported by iHUB DivyaSampark, Technology Innovation Hub, a joint initiative of Department of Science and Technology and IIT Roorkee centre, which was inaugurated by Mr. Manish Anand, CEO, iHUB DivyaSampark.

In yet another event, Shoolini University and its sister concern, Shoolini Institute of Life Sciences and Business Management (SILB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote research among undergraduate and postgraduate students.
