Brother Jerome Ellens Inspires JUIT with Visionary Leadership

Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT), Solan, Himachal Pradesh, had the distinct honor of hosting Brother Jerome Ellens from February 5-7, 2025. A distinguished educator, leader, and mentor, Brother Jerome engaged in insightful discussions on academic excellence, research advancements, and student empowerment during his visit.
A proud native of Chennai, Brother Jerome Ellens has had an illustrious career in education, having served as a teacher, principal, and superior at renowned institutions such as St. Patrick’s School, Chennai; Mount St. Mary’s, New Delhi; and St. Joseph’s College, Coonoor. His historic tenure as the first Indian Vicar General (1998) and Superior General (2004) of the Patrician Brothers marked his leadership on a global stage.
Recognizing his vast experience, JUIT’s Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor, Shri Manoj Gaur, invited him as a special invitee to the university’s Executive Council, a role he graciously accepted. Accompanied by JUIT CEO Shri Manu Bhasker Gaur, Brother Jerome was welcomed by Vice Chancellor Prof. R.K. Sharma, Dean Academics & Research Prof. Ashok Kumar Gupta, Registrar & Dean of Students Brig. R.K. Sharma, and various department heads. A guided tour showcased JUIT’s cutting-edge research, state-of-the-art laboratories, and academic initiatives.
During his visit, Brother Jerome engaged with students, inspiring them with real-life examples and encouraging them to approach their goals with determination. He emphasized the power of ‘SYNERGY’ in education, urging faculty members to foster interdisciplinary collaborations and academic growth.
His visit reaffirmed JUIT’s commitment to academic innovation, leadership, and holistic learning. The university expressed deep gratitude for his valuable insights and looks forward to continued collaboration.
