Global agriculture conference brings scientists, researchers and industry experts to Chandigarh
Chandigarh: The 7th Global Agriculture Conference, AGRI MEET-2026, was held on February 20–21, 2026, at the Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration, Chandigarh. The event was organized by the Agri Meet Foundation in collaboration with Baddi University of Emerging Sciences and Technology (BUEST) and its School of Agricultural Sciences (SOAS).
The conference brought together leading academicians, scientists, researchers, and industry professionals to discuss emerging trends and challenges in agriculture. Distinguished guests present at the event included Dr. Dheer Singh, Dr. S. K. Dwivedi, Dr. Anil Dixit, Saurabh Kumar, Dr. J. K. Sharma, and Dr. Gurlabh Singh Sidhu.
More than 100 researchers from various institutions participated in the conference by presenting their research papers through oral and poster presentations. Students also actively contributed to the discussions through both offline and online participation.
The conference focused on several important themes such as artificial intelligence-driven precision farming, sustainable agricultural practices, and innovative waste-to-wealth solutions for managing crop residue.
During the event, faculty members of Baddi University were honored with prestigious recognitions including Best Women Scientist, Young Scientist, and Excellence in Agro-forestry awards for their significant contributions to agricultural research.
The two-day conference concluded with a collective vision of integrating advanced technologies with traditional farming systems to promote sustainable agriculture, ensure global food security, and support environmental sustainability.
