In a major development, a 20-year-old youth from the Dehra subdivision of Kangra district, Himachal Pradesh, has been arrested on charges of spying for Pakistan. The accused, identified as Abhishek from the Sukhahar area, was apprehended during a pre-dawn raid by local police around 4 AM on Wednesday based on confidential inputs.
Dehra SP Mayank Chaudhary confirmed the arrest, stating that the initial investigation has revealed highly sensitive and serious findings, suggesting a potential threat to national security. Preliminary reports indicate that the accused is a college dropout and may have been in contact with individuals across the border.
This arrest marks a continuation of similar espionage cases reported earlier from Punjab and Haryana, raising concerns over regional security breaches.
