Kangra , Dec 14 – Dehra Police on Tuesday evening arrested a lecturer of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh allegedly accused of raping a girl student of the Central University Dehra, and the alleged accused was produced before the Dehra court today and the court remanded him to police custody for two days.
Dehra Sub Divisional Police Officer Vishal Verma told UNI today that the police have taken the accused on remand for two days after registering a case against him under section 376 IPC He said that the case under section 376 of IPC has been registered against this accused in Dehra police station.
The alleged rape accused used to teach the students as a lecturer in Central University of Himachal Pradesh in the Dehra campus and during this time he allegedly lured one of his students on the pretext of marriage and allegedly raped her.
A complaint was lodged at the Dehra police station, the police got the medical investigation of the victim girl done and on the basis of the complainant and the circumstantial evidence the accused was arrested last evening and was presented in the Dehra court and took the accused on police remand for two days and initiated further proceedings.
